In the workflow configuration, two rules exist for company code restrictions (BuKrs and BUKRS), but only one works correctly in the standard setup.

Problem

You want to restrict workflows based on the company code (BuKrs).

However:

  • The system provides two rules: BuKrs and BUKRS.

  • Only BuKrs works correctly in the standard configuration.

  • The rule BUKRS is non-functional in standard setups.

  • The rule BuKrs does not work standalone.

  • If you use BuKrs without the Debitor rule, the restriction will not take effect.

Solution

Follow these steps to correctly configure the company code restriction:

  1. Use the correct rule

    • Always select: BuKrs

    • Do NOT use: BUKRS

  2. Combine rules properly

    • Use BuKrs together with the Debitor rule

    • This combination is required for the restriction logic to work

  1. Validate your configuration

    • Ensure both rules are active in the workflow

    • Test the workflow to verify:

      • Company code restriction is applied

      • Expected filtering behavior is working

Known Limitations

  1. BuKrs is dependent on the Debitor rule

  2. BUKRS is available in the system but not usable in standard configuration

  3. No effect occurs if BuKrs is used alone
